Trip description

Experience an unforgettable trekking adventure in the High Atlas Mountains and conquer Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167 meters. Starting from Imlil, hike through traditional Berber villages, terraced fields, and spectacular mountain scenery before reaching the Toubkal Refuge, where you will spend the night surrounded by breathtaking alpine landscapes.

The second day is dedicated to the ascent of Mount Toubkal. Crossing rocky trails, mountain streams, and rugged terrain, you will reach the summit and be rewarded with stunning panoramic views over the High Atlas Mountains and surrounding valleys. After the climb, return to the refuge for a second overnight stay.

On the final day, descend through the beautiful mountain landscapes back to Imlil before returning to Marrakech. This trek is ideal for hikers seeking a rewarding mountain challenge and an authentic immersion into Morocco’s natural beauty and Berber culture.

Tour itinerary

We leave Marrakech for Imlil on a paved road of about 70 km. Meet the muleteers, load the luggage and start our hike. We pass by the village of Aremd located about 15 minutes from Imlil on a height of 1900 m. We continue towards Sidi Shamharoush. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at Toubkal Refuge. Trekking Duration: 5 to 6 hours Elevation Gain: 1,500 m Accommodation: Toubkal Refuge
Marrakech - Imlil (1700m) - Toubkal Refuge (3000m)

We start our day early to continue our trek to the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in North Africa. We will cross several fields and river torrents in the mountains sailing on an infinite carpet of rocks. At the top, you will find a plateau with magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes of the High Atlas. Toubkal Climb

On the last day of our tour, we head back down to Imlil, which will take us about five hours. Once we arrive at the village, we will join our transport back to Marrakech. Trekking Duration: Approximately 5 hours Climb: 1500 m
